Kanchenjunga Tea House Trekking, Homestay Trek


Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is done in the undistributed geographical land. So it is known as wilderness trekking route of Nepal. Only a few trekkers were well known about it. Its popularity is increasing day by day. It is well known to most of the trekkers. The route was restricted till 1988 AD. Mt. Kanchenjunga 8586 m 3rd highest mountain of the world is the main attraction of trek. The surrounding area of trekking is watched by Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Project (KCAP). World Wildlife Fund associations with Government of Nepal conduct this program. It is home of Red Panda. Till now fewer trekkers have reached this destination. Maximum claimed that this route is fine for a trek in the land of Himalayas.
Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek is started from Suketar. We will achieve our destination by walking in the area of forest. Marvelous diversity of cultural & natural aspects is in this area. Following the main trail of Tumlingtar, we reach Suketar, Mamankh, Omje Khola, Tabawa, Khesewa and many other more places for our nights. We have an opportunity in knowing local tradition & culture of them. They are very unique. Like this, we complete our Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek. Then we return back to Kathmandu. This will end our Trekking in Nepal.
Kanchenjunga Base Camp is a newly designed challenging wilderness trekking destination. It will be difficult to trek in the undistributed area. Day To Day Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
On landing your flight on TIA Nepal, there will be a warm welcome for you. Our representative of Everest Trekking Routes will be waiting for your arrival. You will be shifted to a place of accommodation. With a rest of some time, a brief description of the upcoming program is done with your guide.
Day 02: Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu Valley
The first day of Nepal tour starts with sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. Having our breakfast we move to Pashupatinath. It is the most known holiest temple of Lord Shiva. Spending a little time we move to Bauddhanath (Little Tibet). Our next destination is Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). Visiting all this we will move to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square, the final destination. Lastly, we will be back to our hotel and make preparation for the next program.
Day 03: Fly to Biratnagar and to Suketar – 3 Hours
With an early morning flight, we reach Biratnagar. From Biratnagar, we will again have a flight to Suketar. In our flight period, beautiful scene of mountain ranges & dense forests will be interesting. Reaching on Suketar we take our luggage, move to a hotel and make preparation for our trek.
Day 04: Suketar to Tabawa (1988m) – 4 Hours
From Suketar we start our real trek to Kanchenjunga Base Camp. Having our breakfast we move to Tabawa. Tabawa is situated at the north of Taplejung. We reach on dense forest after hiking up to south base camp. We pass through grassy meadows & small teashops. Lastly, we reach Tabawa to spend our night.
Day 05: Tabawa to Khesewa (1920m) – 5 Hours
Waking up the early morning we resume our journey to Khesewa. We pass through Phawa village. We will leave Phawa village after crossing suspension bridge of Pawa Khola. We reach forest & narrow terraced land. Magnificent views of Kanchenjunga Glacier with the summit of Yalung Kang (8505 m) will be so much impressive.
Day 06: Khesewa to Mamankhe (1854m) – 6 Hours
Having our breakfast our journey leads us to Mamankhe. Walking in main track we descend down to Kabeli Khola. We will cross a small stream. We pass through the dense forest. View of giant Himalayan ranges is offered in walking. It is a culture of local Limbu, Rai and Magar community’s people. We will enjoy fully with them.
Day 07: Mamankhe to Yamphudin (1706m) – 6 Hours
Today our destination leads us to Yamphudin. We need to walk through the main track of Zigzag road. There is a great ridge behind Kabeli Khola. It is very beautiful. This is our main attraction of today’s walk. We follow the main trial of stone steps. We finally reach Yamphudin to spend our night at tented camp.
Day 08: Yamphudin to Omje Khola – 5 Hours
Omje Khola is our today’s destination. The graveled road of the village is our main walking path. Finishing this we pass through beautiful grazing meadows & agricultural terraces. We will be gifted with spectacular views of mountain ranges. Our surrounding is so much interesting. Crossing Omje River we reach Omje village to spend our night.
Day 09: Omje Khola to Tortogn (2870m) – 6 Hours
Having our breakfast our walk leads us to Tortogn. We will be walking through the main trial of forest & grassy meadows. We climb until we reach Deurali Danda (3292 m). Here we will have a rest for some time. Then we descend down to the forest of rhododendron. A memorable view of great Jannu and Kanchenjunga will be offered.
Day 10: Tortogn to Tseram (3736m) – 6 Hours
Early morning having our breakfast we walk to Term. Attractive valley of Lalung is our main walking trail. Surrounding natural beauty is so much impressive. We will pass through pine & rhododendron forests. It will be so much interesting to enjoy a superb view of Yalung Glacier. Like this, we reach Tseram to spend our night.
Day 11: Rest Day at Tseram – 5 hours
Our today’s day is spending accumulating our self at Tseram. Exploring all about village we will return back for our lunch. The main proposal of rest is to accumulate our self in thin air to be fit and fine. Taking rest for some time we again go around the village. We will spend the whole exploring in the village.
Day 12: Tseram to Ramche (4290m) – 5 Hours
Accumulating our self at Tseram, we resume our journey to Ramche. We will cross Steep road of moraine slop block. It will be a mesmerizing trek on the beautiful valley. Walking continuously through beautiful grazing meadows will be memorable. In the difficult path, we will lastly reach Ramche to spend our night.
Day 13: Ramche to Yalung Glacier and KBC and back to Ramche – 8 Hours
Today is an important day of our trek. It will be difficult for us as we need to reach Kanchenjunga base camp and return back to Ramche. We start our trek in the early morning. Reaching on Kanchenjunga base camp we spend little time. It will be so many impressive moments. For memory, we can capture pictures with us. We will again return back to Ramche for our night.
Day 14: Ramche to Torontam via Tseram – 5 Hours
Our destination is achieved. It is time to return back to our place. Viewing Tseram we return back to Torontam. Our walk will gift us a memorable view of Mera Peak. It is the highest peak of Kanchenjunga region. Walking in the forest of blue pine & rhododendron, we finally reach Torontam to spend our night.
Day 15: Torontam to Yamphudin – 6 Hours
From Torontam, our returning journey leads us to Yamphudin. We return back through the different track. Walking on the steep way on the rocky trail, we will be fully relaxed as it is very easy. We encounter porters & Yaks passing from forests & sloppy path. We hike to the small village of Gurung, Rai & Limbu community people known as Yamphudin. 
Day 16: Yamphudin to Ponphe – 6 Hours
Having our breakfast we walk to Ponphe. We just need to trek downward. We will follow the main trail. Passing from Kabeli Khola, we need to cross suspension bridge of Kabeli Khola. We enter the forest & descend downhill via sloppy terrace on way. Lastly, we will reach Poinphe to spend our night.
Day 17: Ponphe to Pha Khola – 6 Hours.
Early morning we walk to Pha Khola. We will be walking through on downhill track in beginning walk. In our way, we reach Pun and Kesewa village. We will have rest over here. Continuously walking for 5 to 6 hours, we finally reach Pha Lola to spend our night. This locality is inhabitant Gurung community people.
Day 18: Pha Khola to Suketar – 4 Hours
Today is the last walk of our trek. Our destination is Suketar. We will walk through the main track of Suketar. Easily we can reach Suketar. In our leisure time, we visit around the valley and make confirmation of tomorrow’s flight to Kathmandu. We can have rest or visit the village in the remaining time.
Day 19: Fly back to Biratnagar and to Kathmandu
We will take an early morning flight to Biratnagar. Making preparation of our trek we will again take a flight to Kathmandu. During our both period of flight, we will be pleased with a beautiful scene of mountain ranges & dense forests. On reaching Kathmandu we will be shifted to our hotel and have a good rest on remaining time.
Day 20: Farewell
Spending the last night at Kathmandu, we will be ready to return back to the homeland. The small farewell program is organized for your team. Management of returning back and departure is made by our team. Hope you will be back to Nepal to visit the remaining side of beautiful Nepal.
